Essential Oils

Our pure lavender essential oils and lavender hydrosol are direct from our farm and steam-distilled in small batches. We have both lavandula angustifolia and lavandula x intermedia essential oils as well as lavandula x intermedia hydrosol.

The difference between essential oils and hydrosols

Essential oils are a concentrated product created when steam passes through the lavender plants, drawing out the oil-soluble components, and then rising to the top of the collection cylinder.

Hydrosols are created during distillation from water-soluble components, they are much less concentrated than essential oils, and are mostly made up of water with microscopic droplets of essential oil.

Due to the concentrated nature of essential oils, they produce a much stronger fragrance and must be used more cautiously than hydrosols.
